Kids write up an interview, paste it into the Web page, and add a background and photo. Then they go out on the Internet to gather animations, more backgrounds, and sounds. They add links and then put the finished work on their home computers as the “home page” when their browser opens up.  Throughout, the tone is lighthearted and occasionally silly.  The goal of the book is to get your child to enjoy bossing computers around, which may bear fruit later in life.

The heftier version of this book, Let’s Make a Web Page, is 60 pages long and uses different software. It contains a lot more instruction, and is aimed at somewhat older children. It also uses a different free trial download software called CoffeeCup HTML Editor. The tone is more matter-of-fact.
