…but yesterday was a l-o-n-g day. I’m in my first trimester, don’t forget (read: TIRED), had NOTHING defrosted for dinner (yeah, I know), and both school and chores with the kids were like pulling teeth (unusual, to say the least). So anyway, while going to the post office during the little ones’ nap time, I stopped by the little store in downtown Paragon and bought each of the children one of THESE for supper:
I totally caved. The kids were beyond excited. It made me feel better to have our oldest (9 year-old), exclaim, “Wow! I’ve never had a frozen dinner!”
Praise God! Hope he enjoyed it. He may not get another…
LOL! That is hilarious! What a bad mother!! 😉
LOL!!! I had to come and comment on this… I loved it! Bless you, girl! My goodness, that first trimester is the hardest part isn’t it?? I had girlfriends that just went on and on about how it just got easier and easier with each baby….ooooohh… not me! Got worse! Praying for you! Lots of grace and more grace.
Oh, I can really relate to this. Thanks for being transparent and letting us know that you are “normal” like the rest of us;-)
I sometimes give my children breakfast cereal for supper when I am exhausted, and I feel sooo guilty. But they’re loved and happy and that is what counts.
I’m “back reading” a few posts… and had to giggle at the frozen dinner! One time I bought lunchables for the kids (because I use to BEG my mom for them.. and she rarely bought them for us.. and now I see why).
My go-to for nights when I have forgotten to prepare for dinner is frozen chicken breasts that you can COOK from a frozen state (only 45-55 minutes too!). They are in the frozen section of most grocery stores.. usually 7-9 raw chicken breasts, individually frozen (they dont clump together). I didn’t realize you could cook them from a frozen state until several months ago! I really can’t tell the difference, although I am sure they aren’t as healthy as organic fresh chicken, it’s nice to have them around! 🙂 I usually cut up squash/zucchini and put in under the chicken (and put some broth or water in the bottom of the dish too).. before a cook it.. then I’ve got a veggie and a meat without much work on my part. ALWAYS helpful during pregnancy, esp those all-day-sickness days/weeks/months! 🙂
